Default $650 to replace swaybar bushings?

My 03 TT quattro has a nasty metallic creaking sound coming from the rear end when I turn or go up uneven pavement. The local Audi Dealership (Stevens Creek Audi San Jose) said it would be around 650 bucks to fix. Sounds way too high.

I get pissed more and more when I see these posts. One, because the dealers are absolutely killing people with these ridiculous job quotes, and two because most of the repairs I see listed are simple and if you take half a minute to look at the car or the DIYs you'll see that it's not even necessary to call the dealer. Order the part from a site vendor and do the job at home.

That's actually not a bad preventative maintenance. May not fully do the trick but it should help a little at least.

Except your A4 is nothing like a TT....... a TT sway bar isn't complicated its just a extreme time consuming pain in the ***.

650.00 seems a little high. But probably includes 1.0 hour (115.00) diagnosis which starts to makes more sense.

It's still ridiculously expensive. I wonder sometimes how dealership service shops stay in business. Virtually anywhere is less expensive and many are just as capable.
