Default '03 225TT Temp Guage Stuck at C

Hello Everyone,

I noticed just the other day when driving to work that my temperature guage on my TT is not moving from the 'C'. When the car is off the temperature guage rests below the 'C' mark, and when you start it up it moves directly on top of the 'C', however it never moves from the 'C'. It wasn't doing this until I got under the hood and was replacing the filter. I also did a bit of cleaning around the filter box, and ended up removing the entire filter box. I wasn't paying attention to see if the temp guage went out right after I did this, or if it is just a bad concidence. I'm not really worried about it overheating as of yet, the car is well taken care of and fairly low mileage. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what I should check first, and if I really need to take it down to the dealership and have them mull over it.

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

Update:

I seem to have inadvertadly fixed the problem. I was under the hood checking to make sure that the sensor looked ok, and was fully plugged in, and even though it seemed like it should have been working, I gave it a small push to make sure it was seated. After doing this and getting back into the car the sensor now works just as it did before. Several starts later it still functions. I'm not sure how I could have moved this sensor enough to make it no longer function, as I never had a hand near it and I made sure I was careful removing the airbox. So hopefully if anyone runs into this in the future to just take a quick look at the sensor and make sure it is seated.

nice to here an easy fix, remember this when you fit an ABS sensor because it has to click in place ( a very common problem ) with the light handed
