audi 100 heating problem
hello everyone. Just wondering if anyone might have a few ideas for me. My Audi 100 has no heat. Just bought it about a month ago with engine problems. Had no heat before and after I installed a new engine (used) Replaced the thermastat. Water pump is working good. Flushed the heater core and it flows good. No brown stuff came out at all. Heater hoses all get hot and have coolant running through them. Stumped. Any help would be awesome.
Check to see if this valve is operating correctly. Its on the heater hose right before it goes through the firewall. It controls the hot water to the heater core and I have seen them go bad.

If its working correctly when your control is set for heat both entry and exit hose should be hot. If its only the entry side hot I would say its bad then. Its there to shut the hot water off when air conditioning is used.

both heater hoses get hot, so I'm not sure what that means. A lot of people would say that my flaps aren't working right. But, I'm hoping there may be something else to try first. I really don't want to take the dash out if it's something else. Even then, I really don't know what to look for as to why they wouldn't be working.
I thought this was an Audi 100 series? The heater box and blower should be right behind the firewall between the engine compartment and the windshield under the black plastic cover. If hot water is making it to the core then its very possible its a flap not working. And you can get to them easily if you look under that cover. Might just be a vacuum hose as the flaps are opened and closed by vacuum motors.
