heating problem
Hello everyone I'm new to the forum and i'm from montreal and I own a b5 2.8l quattro a4 with 245000km
I'm having problems with the heating in my a4, when I put the heating to the max I only get a little bit of hot air and my car does take some time for it to reach 90c on the temp gauge. what would be the cause of that?
thank you

This. Let your car run for a while, pop the hood and feel the top radiator hose. If it's not uncomfortably hot to hold onto its not hot enough and your thermostat is stuck open.
where would this hose be? because i'm a noob and can't see it
Agreed, and open thermostats are relatively common on 2.8L cars. Find the yellow funky shaped coolant tank with the blue cap. There's a small hose coming off the front. That little hose leads to the upper rad hose that CCA4 is talking about.
hey I just checked this out, let my car get to 90c before checking and the result was that it was hot but not uncomfortably hot so does this mean my thermostat is open? and if so how do I close it because it's starting to get cold up here in canada
Does it give out good heat while driving at highway speeds? If not, it could be that your heater core is plugged.
Here's a great DIY article on how to flush it yourself. http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=349252
