My brake lights stay on while the car is on, and my climate control stays on until I release the brake (even when the car is off). I thought it might be the brake light switch on the pedal, but I ordered the wrong switch ( I got the two pin and I need the 4 pin). I tried connecting the two pin switch to see if it would work, but it didn't.

Yep brake light switch, commonly failure item on audi's.

 

my brake light stay on when car is off. I pulled fuse but what's the deal? bad switch? Also, no power (lag) until car hits 3k rpms then stays in 1st until almost redline before shifting. Bad gas? Put fuel system cleaner in and added another brand of premuim. (4.2 engine, 72K miles)

Bad break switch may cause computer to sense that brake is being applied. Causes transmission issues and high revs. Fixed switch, no more transmission issues.

 

I replaced the brake light switch with the four pin model, but I still have the same problem. Other issues related to this are the front turn signals staying light after making a turn (and using the signal). I checked all the fuses. Could this be a relay problem?

 

Sounds like possibly an electrical short
