Clutch cable
1986 Audi 4000s 5spd 1.8 fwd
Alright well thats my car and I have pics in the gallery but anyways yeah my clutch cable went bad, so I ordered another and got it on.. Now it works I can engage and disengage into gears and such..but the clutch pedal wont go all the way up onto that button it hits(around the same area of the brakes upper part).. I have tightened the cable* all the way but dunno wat to do..any suggestions on how to get my clutch to go all the way up by itself..
Another way I can kinda describe this is when I push down on the clutch to put into gear, neutral, or switch gears and let go of it(like you normally do with clutch) and when you when you can let go of the clutch so it releases back up it doesnt all the way but still functions..

Oh man thats before my time as a tech, but it looks similar to the e brake cables. Have you tried loosening that nut then pulling the sleeve all the way down before turning it?
That sleeve where the nut is should slide down the cable when loosened so you can get extra tension on the cable just like the e brake.
Just play with it, if you can't get it im sure a guy can just adjust it for you in about 1 hour of shop labor.

Maybe im missing a concept on how to do this but I screwed both pieces down as far as I could because it seems like thats the tighest it can get but I dont believe it they have more tension than mine..
Quick question is there suppose to be a spring on the clutch at all? Seen that on some cars..
