Do I have a PCV?
Hi
Well, sorry but this is only my 2nd post in 18 month. Why? My Audi has been ace and I forgot my user password and which audi forum I joined. But i'm here now.
Anyhow, my A4 B5 1999 had a misfire when I first got it. Turned out it was the dipstick and the pressure in the crank. Since that fix, it has been reliable.
The other day, I replaced the front brake pads and since then, the old problem is back. I have checked the dipstick and put tape on the top just to make the seal that bit better. Being non turbo, does my car have a pressure control valve. Just seems too much of a coinicidence that I do work on it and I get the misfire back.
Symptoms. Rough idle until warm then under acceleration, there is no power until I get it over 30 MPH.
Thanks for any help.

No but it does have a Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve. The PCV valve will look like these listed in the link. 99 1999 Audi A4 Quattro PCV Valve - Air Intake - APA/URO Parts, Beck Arnley, Standard Motor Products - PartsGeek
But. Is the check engine light on? If you're getting a "lean" code, you've got an airleak/vacuum leak somewhere.

Hi Dave944
Thanks for the info and the link. I get no lights on the dash. Just a rough drive. If I put my foot down, there is a loss of power that will eventually rectify and get over 30 mph.
I will get a Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve and see if that cures it.
Thanks
