Hi,

I recently purchased an Audi A3 (2003). When I first start the engine the temp guage shoots to the middle of the dial. After driving for a while it moves up and settles near the top end of the temperature range. It doesn't vary thereafter.

After starting the engine the warning signal comes on alerting me about engine temp...
I was thinking there was a problem with the engine coolant temperature sensor. Does this sound like that could be the problem?

I phoned the Audi dealer and he siad my car has two sensors for engine temp, one green and one grey but reading around the net I thought it was just the green one?

Any help for a newbie on this issue would be appreciated
