Ok guys here's the deal,
i bought my b6 s4 on 4-20-2007 used from Lexus..... the other day my check engine light came on but everything seemed fine.... no drivability problems what so ever.... so i took the car back because there is a 30 day warranty.... i dropped it off yesturday and they sent the car to the nearest Audi dealer. today the guy from lexus calls me and tells me that it is a bad "air sensor for the fuel injector" ...... huh? is this really a sensor??? just wondering if this is b*ll sh*t before i go back to pick it up.... personally i thought i may have left off the gas cap cause i filled up that day....

think he could be talking about the MAF? he said it was going to cost him $429 to fix

He probably thought you were incompetent and put it in simple words like most dealers, i think he was probably talking about the MAF sensor, take it to a pepboys and post up the codes.

 

Yea, that's the MAF. The Dealers have all their own lingo for things.

 

get the part number that needs to be replaced. then look it up online (ecstuning.com) and see if you can do it yourself. if it's a bad maf, you should be able to get a new maf for like $100 and do it yourself in like a half an hour.

well, it was the MAF sensor.... 10 points for 2k S4..lol..... fortunatley this happend while the car was still under warranty.... unfortunatley it is taking them 4 F-ing days to fix it! but i should be getting the car back today....

four days to repair it??? why didn't you just schedule a time to have it done, then just drop it off and pick it up in the same day? i'm assuming they couldn't do it for four days, and you dropped it off early anyway?

only takes ten mins. to replace

4 days LOL! It takes, 5min to swap them out!

 

That's what i was saying!!! it take like 30 mins tops!!! it was all the service advisors fault... believe me.... but anyways, i'm over it... i just got the car back 10 mins ago and everything seems fine....hopeing for the best... i really love this car.
