Just bought a used 2004 S4 and fuel door indicator is on. Fuel door is closed. I drove the car from Chicago on saturday with no problems. On sunday the fuel door indicator pops up. I checked door... I checked fuel cap... Can't figure it out.


Any ideas??
Please excuse me if this is an easy fix but I am new to AUDI's.

Have you checked your gas cap? Is it tight?

 

Yes I have checked.

Today I read in the manual that the cap is the reason why indicator will turn on... so tomorrow I am going to buy a gas cap from dealer. Hope it works

Replaced gas cap and no luck...

 

Gas cap worked after all.... I guess it took a bit to reset
