Default Passat to AUDI ECU Swap

Just wondering if anyone knew if a 2002 Passat ECU would work in my 2001 AUdi A4.... Same engines transmission...

Thanks

Matching numbers mean it should work - that's very likely the only way it will though. Curious why you want to do this...?

As long as the ECU part number matches it should be ok the only problem you might have is defeating the immobilizer. You will know if it doesn't start. The dealership (expensive side) or a majority of tuners out there can defeat that. If you have any issues with it we can defeat it you would have to send me your ECU. If that's the case send me a pm and I'll work in an AudiForums discount for you.

Hey so I did the swap!! And car runs perfect except for the ESP and ABS lights are on! Is this something that can be resolved with a vag-com? And gotta say huge difference from stock! Finally fun to drive!
