Recently, I have noticed a screeching noise from under the glove compartment whenever i would turn the climate control on. after about 15 seconds, it would calm down and I wouldn't hear it any more. Today, i've noticed when i turn the air circulation button on, the little light goes off in a matter of a second. I didn't think of screeching noise that much since it wasn't a big deal but its starting to become a big deal when buttons are not working. Something is definetly wrong and I was wondering if you guys knew what it is and how I can fix it. the air circulates fine through the vents and the noise only occurs in the morning after I start the car. i have a 2001 1.8T

 

the fan might be on its way out if its sticking the buttons wont operate it like safe mode

 

recirculate button should only work with a/c on.air only will will not allow recirc.,so button will only flash once when hit.fan is on it's way out.

 

ok so I need to replace the fan....how much does that fan cost?

I can either choose to buy the motor with electronic A/C regulation or without....which one do I need?

 

i just called the audi specialists and they said I need the blower with the electronic A/C regulation but I wanna know why??
