Default Should these rear wheel bearings have more grease in them???

ok, so today i been working on putting in new rear wheel bearings. (98 1.8TQM)

as many of you know they are a double row ball bearing with a split inner race,
well i was curious what was in there, so i pulled one of the races out and a couple of the ***** fell out. there was a very small amount of green grease in there, but not enough to even hold the ***** in the cage.

now, what i did was pack take a as much bearing grease as i could and packed it in there and installed it.

so to my question-> is this small amound of green grease magical enough to do the job?
did i do myself a favor or screw myself over by packing more grease in there?
i will post a picture later tonight, but i want your opinions now, before i go do it to the other one, thanks

Could some original grease have disappeared from 11 yr old bearings? , probably. Adding a little extra grease won't hurt, I don't think there is such a thing a too much grease for bearings, any excess will squish out.
