Default squeaky steering wheel

my steering wheel squeaks when I turn the wheel. It is not power steering fluid or anything. It is coming from just behind the wheel. kind of a high pitch rubber on rubber kinda squeak. I am just going to spray wd-40 in the seams. I'm kidding, sorta.

If the steering wheel isnt rubbing on the plastic trim, youll need a new clockspring. Otherwise your steering column has probably collapsed and youll need to replace the whole steering column.

clock spring???? only if airbag light is on, steering column has probably collapsed "if its had an accident", chances are its catching/rubbing against other plastics

it has not been in a accident and the light isn't on. I kinda think it is just rubber and plastic rubbin. I'm thinking about taking off the plastic around the column and trying to decifer it that way. While trying not to ruin the whole thing.

wd40 is a good idea or silicon spray, there is a bushing 2 thirds the way down the column near the peddles ensure it in all the way the steering wheel/column has excess movement if it isn't

My car was doing the SAME thing, and I tok apart the entire steering colum assembly. It was actually one of the ball joints (look at that pic and it's where the far left red line pointed to). I soaked it in oil and it fixed it. That was about 4 mos ago. Just recently it started squeaking again. Not sure what the dealio is though?? I dont feel like taking it apart AGAIN.
