Default Torque Convertor

Has anyone had problems with a torque convertor? I drive an A6 2.7T Quattro. I have a check engine light on with codes pointing to the torque convertor. I just bought the car a month ago. I have had a mechanic check for bulletins, but there isn't any out there. Anyone seen this problem before or know of any corrections.

i have same problem but car is driving fine and no gas milege dropping , no shifting problem. just annoying check engine light. my mechanic inspect fluid level, it's fine and told me there is nothing he can do unless i want to spend big bucks to rebuild tranny.

i am just gonna keep driving until something really happen.

if you do whant to do something, simply change the fluid to a better one or a fresh one, and no need to check it. simply what pures out you pur in, and done.

Usually that code requires replacement of the torque converter.

My 2001 All-Road has had the check engine light on and off for the last 13,000 miles. The error code is for the torque converter. I have not been able to distinguish any differences in the car's performance.

The dealer saidit needed to be replaced immediately (cost $4,000), but because the car has 114,000 on it, I am just letting it go.
