I have a 96 A4 2.8 Quattro (5 speed).... it has a weird diesel sounding ticking noise to it....when ever i turn to the left it gets noticibly louder........anyone have any ideas?? please help

 

Does it make the ticking when you are sitting still or just when your moving?

 

it makes it both at idel and moving but gets noticibly louder when i turn to the left......power steering pump maybe??

It could be the power steering pump but I have never heard one tick, usually they only whine or howl.

 

ok well i will see and let you know... i have an appointment at the local VW/Audi dealer tomorrow so hopefuly nothing to expensive........

 

it'll tick if its completely out of fluid. mine all leaked out when i did my timing belt and it scared the sh*t outa me because i thought i bent some valves. thankfully i just needed some power steering fluid and was good to go.
