Please buy a stock turbo and manifold setup, ko4 setup or a REAL turbo upgrade. If you dont, this chinese crap will break in no time. You can get stock stuff really cheap on here in the classifieds and over on vwvortex. The sooner the better so you dont get stuck on the side of the road somewhere
Have you ever dealt with XSpower products? Obviously not, your going off hearsay, which I think is quite dumb unless you have any idea what your talking about.
XSpower isnt the greatest like Garrett, Turbonetics, PTE..... But they are not Chinesse.... They are made in the USA to be exact (just as bad haha) But anyhow, have been proven to perform. www.dsmtuners.com has 100page threads going faster with this turbo than your audi will ever go. There have been 9 second passes on these turbos, and they have proven the test of time with road racing wins, and countless scca laps. Just because it doesnt cost a fortune doesnt mean its crap. I have personally had a XS Big16g on a Talon TSi AWD I owned, and I beat the **** out of it, and the turbo never ever failed, and it was good for over 110 mph traps with under 150 bucks in the car.
As far as a T4 on a 1.8t, your going to need support mods.
Fuel injectors
Fuel pump
regulator
tuning device
a good exhaust, intake manifold, and a set of cams to spool that monster, those never hurt lol.
It can be done, and when done properly, your car will be very fast. But it will lag!

manifold cracking
Yep, now that does happen. But if properly braced, have been shown to hold up better than many high dollar manifolds......
Never done a fast budget build have ya? [sm=smiley17.gif]

I dont spend $400 for a "turbo kit". If your so impressed with running pos parts, thats your choice. I have seen more than enough of these crap kits crack and even explode on a dyno to know better than to use them. My favorite it the compressor covers that were glued together

All i can say is you get what you pay for.

while i can't say weither there crap or not, you get what you pay for. and with something spinning at 150k+ rpms the slightest of balance will screw it up. so cheap is cool but not for percision parts

The reason they are so cheap is because they arent balanced

Hey what do you think of this set up??

Garrett T3 stage I .48/.60 watercooled
Tial 38mm wastegate
Core DV
Bosch 440cc inj.
Walbro 255lph pump

I have 2.5 high flow exhaust, and manifold to support it. I'm woundering about the tune either chip/program or stand alone and fmic set up?

Thanks Michael

The t3 60trim is a great turbo for the 1.8t. But i would get a forge or apr dv instead. Also the Bosch green top injectors are crap. They do not have a proper spray pattern. Get some seimens or genisis injectors instead. Finally, if you are planning on using that ssautocrap manifold, DONT. It would be better to replace it now and save headaches and downtime down the road.
