the only reason im leaning towards the passport is b/c of size and money. Supposedly the range si very equal and will be very close in response time. I dont care about the arrows b/c if it goes off i will slow down. Dont u ever worry about lidar?

You can only do so much, when it goes off, i slow down. I'm only going as fast as other traffic anyway, most of the time.

I have really only heard my detector go nuts a couple of times, most of the pigs here still use radar, but if there is a speed trap with the highway patrol they will use lazer and other crap, it will go nuts. I usually just leave it on "Highway" mode, it's a little more sensative, but i'll just look at the scale and see what it detected and how strong the signal is. It will pick up some security systems, but i know where they are, and they don't register very high on the scale. When it does pick up a signal, it will be steady and climb until i see the cop. By then i'm slow!

Why do you need a bogey counter when it only takes one cop to give you a ticket? What difference does it make if there are 4 cops pointing radar at you? And yes, the Passport detects laser. It has a loud, funky, unmistakable scream when you are lazed.

a bogey counter lets u know hwo many are there. Say a radar goes off and a cop passes u going teh other way. U speed up and then u get hit whit radar from someone waiting a mile down the road.

I guess with an escort it would keep giving you an alert. The cop's signal passing the other way would go up in strength and then fade as he passed - then the detector would continue to pick up any other signals. The detector is just a tool. You are using your brain and the tool to avoid tickets. If the cop passes and you still have some warning lights/sounds, then there is another bogey. Things like "bogey counter" are marketing ploys that are just another way of saying "it detects radar". The V1 has arrows, but what you really need to know is that you need to slow down -not where the cop is at that very moment. If you are being painted it doesn't matter where the cop is. Just like it doesn't matter how many there are. You are being painted or you aren't.

You can wait to speed up again until there are no signals coming in. My 2 cents.
