when i got my S4 with 52k it was still on warranty (thank god) because it needed a new MAF sensor and TPS(basically whole throttle body)..... the only other problem that i have is a 1-2 second "knocking or rattling" noise coming from the top and back (near the firewall) of the intake manifold....i'm assuming it's either the "oil check valves"(located directly underneath the intake manifold) or it's the cam chain tensioner... hopefully it's the oil check valves because in order to service the tensioner I'd have to pull the engine. []

other than that i love this car... looking for a little more power, but this car is incredibly smooth and comfortable.

Well pretty much everything you can do within reason to a b6 s4

-ecu upgrade
-awe tuning exhaust
-cold air intake
-sway bars
-springs

I bought it with all this so I don't know too much specifics on all of it for example audi couldnt tell me what ecu chip I had installed just that it had been modified. Also I'm not sure what intake I have, anyways it's the best sounding b6 S4 I've heard I love it!

 

sounds like a sweet ride. That seems to be as far as most people wanna go with the v8.

 

Ya I've looked around at superchargers and I doubt many people are going to throw down 15-25k for 150hp. My car also came with e-code headlights, clearbra and tint so all I really want to do is put in a NAV unit but not sure where to find them. What kind of car do you have?

 

My 04 is also modded see below. There doens't seem to be anything to buy at this time. I'm with you.. Give me a supercharger for 4K and I'm there. The car could use another 150HP to add some snap to it. All you B5 guys yea I know, I should have brought a turbo like my last 5 cars.

Why doesn't anyone make headers for these cars?

 

B5 is nice....but i know i have to drop at least $10,000 to get where i wanna go with K04's.

 

I have a 2004 s4 and love it.The big problem i currently have is my engine light comes on infrequently. I took to dealer and they told me my cam actuators are gone. 5 thousand to repair (Not under warranty) i got 1 2nd opinion and they couldnt find anything wrong. It still does it and i am looking for a 3rd opinion.Other than that its flawless. I recommend owning 1 . Although I drive it hard it eats tires.

 

cam actuators? ..... cam tensioners? -it's probably soo expensive to fix because you'd have to pull the engine.
