Missing something....
Iv heard the Vast stage 3 is the same as the southbend stage 3 so yours is even more agressive, probably a good thing for those RS6's. I mean even if you ran race gas and turned up the boost you would probably bend/break a connectiong rod before you tore apart the clutch right?
The other clutch i was looking at was a clutchmasters FX400 but it would require me to buy a new flywheel which i didnt want to do because i got a LWFW with my RS4 clutch just a couple thousand miles ago.
I really ordered the Vast clutch because Jay uses it on his car and iv seen it take brutal abuse. He also gives me prices consistently better than anyone else around. I got the ER's from him, Clutch, Transmission rebuild, and lots of smaller parts <$200. Like i said, i think im one of the "regulars" that has spent over $3000 with him this year. JHM is making 2 piece rotors that will work with the cayanne 6 piston caliper so thats going to be my brake solution allong with the 300MM rear kit.

yeah.. crazy.. but jason has talked to me more about my build than the guys at EPL.. he actually spent a while on the phone with me while we tried to get it to run properly without software, not to mention the countless hours that we discussed the RS6 tune from them for my car. i wish id had been a little more patient with them and gone with them in the end.. id be driving my supercar right now instead of waiting... ive got to ship my ecu in anyways for them to tune.. so whats the big difference now??
Ya that sucks that youve had such a difficult experience with EPL, its the first time iv heard anything negative about them. It really supprised me... EPL is within driving distance to me so i will be taking my car down to stratford directly to them so i doubt ill have any problems.
In comparison though your right, Jason has incredible customer service. JHM and VAST both are allways very willing to discuss and explain things to you more so than other places. Im sure EPL could have 1000 excuses, it does sound like theyre trying to help you though... remote tuning can be hard, remember theyve never even seen the car. You could very well go through many rounds of logging and revisions before your happy with the tune.
Remember though its waterfest weekend so lots of people from the scene are down in NJ

ya .. you should have no problems.. i have no doubt about the ability.. just seems like they should have more than one or two guys that can do it all.. in case theres an emergency (like mine) and if one guys outta town the other guy can cover.. oh well.. my car will be a beast by wednesday... ecu shipped out today and ill get it wed morning with all the fixin's..
As your turbos get bigger the term "full boost" becomes irrelivent. There is more lag but the RS6's arent really a ton bigger that the k04's...
I got a little start today, about 3-4 hours. Definitly not the best location (and not the one i wanted to use) but it goes to show what you can do with just a little motivation and some tools. The lights and proximity to the air compressor were good but the floor sucks, and its very dirty and full of sawdust. Oh well Sheets + a car cover... I need an engine hoise...tomorrow

Ya so far its been really easy. Im ditching the whole A/C system so thats one less thing to worry about, just means i need a new serp belt. My PS cooler and radiator are a little dented because of the fox i hit, I dont think the damage is too bad, the bracket that holds the carmometer (temp sensor) broke though so we found that little sucker just dangleing. Coolant expansion tank has cracking in 3-4 spots so ill probably replace that. Iv been doing work on the wiring harness, definitly my least favorite part...cutting all those zip ties. As far as i can tell iv got rear drive shaft, front axles, motor and transmission mounts to loosen and a couple lines to remove and shes ready to come out. Honestly its been really easy. If your thinking about it, dont hesitate. Air ratchet and impact gun do work though, would have taken twice as long if i was doing it by hand. Ill bring a camera today...
