I'm a new B7 S4 owner...

Just wondering if anyone has ever gone "over the top" and gutted their car in the interest of saving weight?

I used to own an MR2 Spyder and managed to remove almost 300 lbs from the car, it was a noticable difference. I'm wondering what sort of weight savings could be had removing the back seat, interior trim, trunk trim, spare, swapping for lighter rims, battery, etc. Granted, it would change the purpose of the S4 a little.

Just wondering...

 

headliner, hood liner, spare, spare well, cf fenders, cf trunk, cf hood, lightweight front seats... I know that 11secS4 on AZ has mostly all of that done i believe.

 

woops i was talking about a b5 s4, not sure how many cf parts are being made for the b7

 

Take the engine out. Save a few hundred pounds right off the bat.

 

I would be interested to learn how much weight he saved.

Best performance Mod I could probably make right now is a good diet!
