1. It is not hard
2. You do notneed to reset any computer (There is a "Service" reminderthat displaysonthe instrument cluster thatis set off every 8-10k miles (Directions to reset are in the owners manual))
3. No different tools are needed (except for a 17mm socket and a quarter for the belly pan (if equipped
))
4. Basically follow the steps that 2kS4 mentioned up above.

2005 S4 Oil Change
I've had a 2005 S4 since new and with factory warranty just had to do my first oil change.
I used 9.5 Qts of Mobil 1 5-30 (book said it was ok and couldnt find 5 40), got my filter from www.autohausaz.com for less than half price ($12.50 instead of $29 locally) and free shipping because I bought 4 and a $.32 washer to make the $50 free shipping deal. I went to a Express Oil Change and paid them $20 to do the work with me watching and helping the whole time.
Was so easy I may DIY next time.
Screw driver and quarter takes off 8 clip-screws holding belly cover.
Oil filter couldnt be easier... on top of the motor middle back under plastic OOOO cover and just unscrews with large socket wrench. Nice one Audi! Slip in the new filter and rubber O-ring and crank it down and your done. And when you unscrew the filter all the oil is released through the drain plug, NO MESS!!!!!
The reset of the service reminder takes ten seconds, it's in your manual.
It's a little more time consuming because of the belly cover but it's definitely a DIY if youve done oil changes before.
Good luck!

I guess an oil change (syn. 0-30) and filter for $39.95 is a bargian on my '04 S4.
The upside is they have no clue on the cost of the filter or how much oil this car takes.
the down side is they have no clue about anything else.
I can't do it for that price!
