Thinking of Getting an 04 s4
Hello,
I'm new on this forum, but i've been looking at an s4 for a while now. I currently own a 2006 Mazdaspeed6, but i'm tired of Japanese sedans seeing as that's all I have ever owned. I found a 2004 yellow s4 with 63k on the odometer. The guy is asking 18.5k for it. I just wanted to know if you guys thought that was a decent price, and if 63,000 miles was considered a lot for these cars. From the pictures the car looks immaculate, but of course I would drive it before i bought it. I was also wondering if the s4 was reliable, and if not what are the most common issues. I know that no car is perfect, but I don;t want to get myself into a car i'm going to have to dump thousands of dollars into it every few months or even years. Any advice or help would be significantly appreciated. Thank you!

The B6 S4 is a very good car. Over all it is very reliable ~60k miles isnt very much. The biggest complaint most have is gas mileage which isnt very good. I dont know about price, best thing to do would be search kbb.com for value and autotrader for other cars in your area to get an idea of what else you could have. Drive the car and if you like it (which im sure you will) buy it!
Mines going great at 60K. Valve cover gaskets and timing chain cover gaskets seem to be the common higher mileage issue.
I drive mine quite hard, always got my right foot in it and gas average is about 19 to 20 MPG. Just did a 3000 mile road trip with it and the gas average seems better now than before.
Go german dude. Jap stuff is OK but the european stuff has more depth of character.
