You are FINE! That is totally normal, & will happen even with K04's.
My thoughts are you have a leaking passenger side valve cover gasket, or one of the other ones. When hot, the oil drips on the turbo, & makes it smell.
If your turbo is going bad, it will spew oil, or coolant out the exhaust, not make boost, or make horrendous noises.
