Replacing a Tip trans is much more $$$ than a clutch/fw. Automatics are inherently more costly and prone to failure more so than manuals.

Yeah I've been hearing mixed reports about the reliablility of both models...so given that fact i'm going to make the assumption that the driver plays a role in blowing the tranny =P.Also...90% of the available B5'sin the Midwest are TiP. Well see when the time comes...rofl! Thanks for the input tho guys!
