what i take off of when i turn or stop the car makes what i think is a popping noise but it may be a grinding noise can someone help me with this and tell me what this is.

 

Possibly lower control arms or bad ball joints. To test lower control arms with the vehicle on the ground try tightening the lug nuts on front wheels, if they are bad the whole wheel will move you will beable to feel the play. To test ball joint raise vehicle grab front lower part of tire (4 oclock) and try pushing and pulling slightly, play is obvious. Most likely control arms.

 

when testing the lower control arms does the car need to be raised up or on the ground and does the car need to be in gear or in neutral

 

if one of those it the problem is it urgent that i get it fixed or can i wait a little while before i get it fixed

 

where does the noise come from?

 

the control arms are a known porblem i wouldnt let it go...

Possibly CV joints though?

I personally had a slightly bent front sway bar. I guess I ran something over? When the sway bar would turn it would tapping the subframe. Replacing the sway bar and the problem was resolved. Get your car on a lift, check out the movement of your suspension.
