yea after i read the first paragraph in this post i thought clutch........drive ur car if theres no more smoke u should be fine..........do some test pulls on ur clutch to see if its slipping

go 35mph, put her in 5th gear and floor it, make sure the rev's match the mph increase...if they jump (rpm) bye bye clutch.
It doesn't necessarily mean he blew a head gasket. In my car, I have blown my coolant temp sensor out of its socket behind the head like three times during hard shifts and when it happens, coolant shoots all over the block and I get a nice cloud of white smoke behind me.
