The stock fuel mapping doesnt supply enough fuel and correct timing adjustments throughout the powerband for any boost over stock boost levels(8ish psi.) Youre just blowing extra hot air at anything over 8ish psi. An upgradedfuel pressure regulator isnt the solution to this because pressure has nothing to do with mapping. Your injectors "pulse" when squirting fuel out. Fuel mapping adjusts the legth of time between pulses to dictate how much (more or less) fuel is being used depending on how much boost the ecu is requesting while the engine is under load. All a fpr does is change how fast the fuel is squirted out during injector pulse. It has nothing to do with how much fuel is being delivered. I know that might be hard to understand. So just imagine a garden hose with your thumb tapping on the end squirting the water out. The pulse (mapping)is how fast you tap, and the fpr effect would be how much you release your thumb-controlling the pressure at which it is squirted out. Something like that... But hopefuly you get the concept. I am officially done with you as far as chips/fpr's/mbc's/n75's/map's, etc. go. Youve been told all you need to know. So before you start a new thread asking the same questions in a different form, do us (and yourself) a favor and re read these threads, read the stickies, and use the search. Im not a fueling expert, so someone please correct me if Im wrong. But I think I have the right idea, generally.
