Just Blew out clutch in my 98 2.8
Hey everyone i just blew my clutch out in my 98 audi a4 2.8 quattro. I was having a lil too much fun doing donuts in the snow and bam all of a sudden a massive cloud of stinky burnt out clutch completely filled the air and car! At first i thought i blew the engine but thank god it was just the clutch but ne ways i just ordered a sachs performance clutch kit does ne one know if this is a good choice? Also im paying 540 in labor too have it installed. The guy said it would b ezier too just pull the engine out of the car since its a awd vehicle. I was wondering if ne one could give me ne advice on a blown clutch as in what replacment clutch kit they got and how much they paid for labor work thanks.
i really dont know how the hell it happened i had it down in the red alot but ik i wasnt slipping the clutch i would always b shifting throught the gears everytime it would b close or in the red. I just bought the car and i think the clutch mite have been going whne i bought it sooo just happened too go out on me.
My clutch just went out too, didnt burn out tho. Anyways, I am getting a Spec Stage 1 Clutch Kit (supposed to be really good) from www.ultrarev.com for $316 and 3 day shippping for $45. Pretty good deal i think. Lucky you get to take it into a shop. I am doing mine this break. fun...
Yea man it completely and absolutely blows! there was no worse feeling then knowing your clutch is disinergrated. But about that stage one for 314 thats a fricking deal i wishi could cancel mine and get that i bougt my clutch for like 340 plus 78 shipping overnite soo it will b here saturday morning. Soo u werent burning out though? it jsut blew out on you? Mine worked about a mile up the road and i coud feel it slip constantly and its rpm's would go way up there and eventually it just stopped going into gear andi had too coast into my friends driveway in neutral. At this point i wish i hadnt ordered a carbon fiber hood too put on sinch labor is 540 but hey i guess thats the price you pay when you are having too much fun.
lmao okay buddy i dont need u too tell me what too buy and what not too buy,I have plenty of money for repairs and FYI the 2.8L is the one that is reliable its not the 1.8 L turbo where everything just likes too break all the time! Soo how about you just kinda keep those opinions too yourself because really i could give a ****.
HAHA no actually not just the clutch. But w.e im not even saying the 1.8l is bad at all im gonna buy one after winter and put the ko4 kit for it soo if u say im dissing on the 1.8 well your wrong.
