Last one...by the way I will be replacing the license plate holder with a straight plastic bar. The dealership will order the part for me, hopefully it'll be free!

When my mom bought her B7 a6 they gave us both peices the one for the license plate and the normal one with the chrome pieces.

I have also fitted the Silverstars and they are way better and a lot whiter than the standard bulbs. I drive a B5 A4 now but had a B6 A4 before and I would say the Silverstars come pretty close to the B6's projector style lights in illumination. BTW, in South Africa, the Silverstars are about $17 a set of two H4 bulbs.

When you say chrome pieces you mean the trim that goes around the grille? So you would have another strip of chrome going underneath the rings the whole lenght of the grille?

When changing over to HID it is not always as easy as just putting in the ballast, igniters, and hid capsules. If your wanting just the look then yes that is all u need but to get the full effect you will need the projectors from the oem counterpart as to take advantage of the higher lighting output.

Without the original projectors from the hid light housings you will have alot of wasted light and glare which can be dangerous to oncoming traffic and thus making yours not as good as the real deal.

Well lets just say I want the xenon look without having to change over to HID. I have a B7 A4 with no xenon, I didnt get the lights package. But I want the xenon look on my car? Should I just get Silverstars? Are they just bulbs that you replace? Do I have to replace the high beam, low beam, fog ligts? How much per bulb?

Start by upgrading the low beams. They're on most of the time.
