Thank you all for your replies and suggestions!

Located an AutoZone within 10 min of work, will go there today hopefully.

So nobody seems to have suggestions about the "battery manager needing to be recoded?"

Other than the "slow to start" now in the mornings, there's nothing else that indicates a problem... no lights on the dash, etc.

Hey... I'm learning... Thank you Stealer...

In all the honesty, I'm not familiar at all what C5 and C6s are coming equipped with. You have a 2006, so you may have indeed a battery "manager" that may need to be recoded. Someone with a similar yr model and VAGCom accessibility could tell you exactly if the dealer is just trying to sell you doughnut holes on "technical lingo", or indeed the car comes equipped with a such device that needs recoded everytime when replacing the battery. I wouldn't really like to have a car like that, no matter how "luxurious" and "prestigious" may be...

found this on audiforums.us
(http://audiforum.us/off-topic/6788-h...udi-a8-4e.html)

"These cars are equipped with a battery management system that continuesly check the charging state of the bat. and decides to turn things on and off to prevend you from not beeing able to start the car.
It also decides the if the alternator needs to charge or not.

In order to do this the management needs to no what type of battery there is in the car and its state of chrge in the beginning.
That's why you may not charge the car directly on the battery because the management does not calculate this in the state of charge and will shut things down because it thinks the battery is low, but it's not"

sounding like I'll HAVE to go back to the stealer...

Edited to Add: I searched around the audiforums.us and may have found out how to do on my own, but I'll need to look more into vagcom codes, etc...

Default Don't have a clue why my 2005 Audi A6 wont start

I recently went on a camping trip this past weekend. Forgot to remove an ice chest from the trunk. Water everywhere. Aired it out but forgot about the battery also in the trunk below.

This morning I went to start my car and it wouldn't. After COMPLETELY drying out the trunk and the battery(which had condensation all over), it still would not start. All other electrical aspects, aside from my steering console and car not starting -- not even the clicking sound, seem to be in tact.

I've checked the fuses in all three areas (trunk, driver and passenger sides).

HELP, ANYONE?

Your battery is on a wrong place!!!
Move it to the front.

BTW-You'll get efficient answers once you post in a dedicated thread.

Meanwhile actions-check your battery voltage-replace the battery with proven good one.

My battery is in the trunk too, right next to the spare tire, weird place, but that's where she's all hooked up at.

Haven't had any issues with starting lately, of course the temps up here have been in the 50s (Farenheit) for the past couple weeks now, rather than at or below freezing (when I began to have the start problems).

Just called the stealer and was quoted $188 for a new battery and another $120 for installation and coding. They don't care if I purchase an outside battery.

And just yesterday my replace brakes soon light came on... one thing after another... I just laughed when I saw it...

Dear Santa...
Please take my car! I'll take the Reindeer...

I can feel your pain, Bri. Hang in there...
Maybe there's someone with an EBahn for a 2006 and may tell you how to recode yourself the damn thing via VAGCom (if it's possible with it)

Thank you!

I'm hangin in there, borrowing a portable charger now and keeping it with me... just in case

Even if I had the right codes, I'd still need connection cables...

Could always be worse, right? I'm just dealing with stupid issues and wear an tear items so far... *knocking on wood*
