Default Audi A6 2.7T Issues

I recently purchased a 2004 A6 2.7T and I have noticed that the vehicle is having a hard time shifting during rapid acceleration. This only occurs while my shifter is in its normal automatic position and I have yet to see it happen while in tiptronic mode. The other odd issue that I have noticed is that during rapid acceleration air is forced through the defrost vents in the dash whether or not I have the a/c on. I'm guessing that the ventilation issues are due to a blown vacuum switch, but could the two be related?

The car has been well maintained and only has 70,000 miles on it currently.

Is there anyone out there that could provide some insight to what may be occuring with my car?

could be a whole bunch of stuff.

have you tried pulling codes? I would suggest you start there and see what your car thinks might be going on with itself.

You might check vacuum connections to the reservoir and put a guage on it to check it to be sure you have vacuum in the system, an easy thing to do. After that, you need a scan of the sensors in real time to look for the cause.

The transmission shift lag is probably normal. There are something like 200 maps in the transmission and yours has probably selected a conservative map, which results in a slow downshift. Either drive more aggressively to force a map change or stick to Tip mode for the aggressive times.

I can be no help on the air through the vents issue.
