Brake Rotor Replacement
How difficult is it to replace the brake rotors on a 2000 A-6 Quatoro Twin Turbo 2.7.
I replaced the front pads today and it looks like the front rotors would come right off once the caliper is removed. The rear rotors seemed very solid. Are they held in place by the center bolt or are they just rusted on which maybeis whyI couldn't get them to move on the hub?
Would like to replace all 4 rotors in the spring and wondering if this is something I can do at home or if special tools are required.
Thank you,
Kurt

To pull the entire brake rotor you have to take off those two 21or21mm bolts and swing the caliper assembly out of the way, then there should be a screw holding the rotor onto the hub on most models, if it doesn't come off a big *** hammer is needed.
The big caliper brake bolts have to be torqued to 75ft Lbs.
Which center hub bolt are we talking about? The large drive axle bolt or the little screw that holds in the brake rotor?

The large bolt in the center of the drive axle on the rear rotor.
Looks pretty much like the same thing on the front and had a flange like a large washer as part of the head.

Oh my bad your talking about the rear rotors, those are simple to get out just remove both of the 13mm bolts using a 15mm wrench or pliers as a counter holder and take off the calipers and knock out the rotors. Those have to be torqued no tighter than 30 ft lbs. As for the center hub bolt you should never have to remove that nut un-less your replacing the axle shaft, that has to be torqued to 150 ft lbs plus a quarter turn with a breaker bar.
