Default A/C Not Working

A/C worked fine last summer and now that the time is here for me to use it again my car seems to not want to cooperate. With the temp set to low and the fan set to high I only get warm air in the cabin. I thought maybe I needed freon, so I picked up a can with a guage and hooked it up. Turns out my system was way over-pressurized and my brother bled off the pressure (into the atmosphere of course bad I know) to where it was down in normal range. Still nothing. I'm getting no ECU codes aside from my P0421 from my cat but that wouldn't do it. COuld it be possible the pressure switch is bad? Or is it more likely my compresssor which I'll drive without A/C before replacing that. Btw its an 04 A6 2.7 that gives me nothing but headaches.

Sounds like my symptoms. Indie diagnosed compressor and I passed on the repair. A6 is really a winter driver anyway, and I can always open the sunroof and rear windows for airflow. Overall the A6 has been pretty reliable and just turned 231k miles. I had to replace the fuel pump last week. :-(

Glad to see yours is reliable. Mine brakes down every three months or so like clockwork. The worst thing is I'm paying it off as fast as it is depreciating in value so I can't even get rid of it.
