Disconnect the battery?

I have read that the radio may need to be reset with it's security code. You probably want to avoid that unless you have the code already (from the dealer).
I took my A6 off the road this summer in late April and left the battery connected. I admit I have the advantage of starting it twice. You may want to have someone crank it over for you and run it until it's warm. That way the engine is lubed and the battery is charged.
You could also invest in a trickle charger. There are some made to maintain batteries for long periods of time and cost around $50. Google away.

Just a word of caution for all of you that own a 1999 A6 Q and would like to replace the battery. When you remove the battery you will need to reprogram the computer, so be sure to always maintain power to the computer through the battery cables with a backup battery. There may be another way to do this thru the cigarette lighter but all I had was another battery. The cost to reprogram at the dealer is at least $120 and since the car won't idle and has no power if you fail to maintain power to the computer you probably need to tow it to the dealer.
