Default Quick Help needed ....

Hi,

Unfortunately, I suffered a puncture yesterday. I managed to take four out of the five bolts out but the 5th one had been cross threaded into the hub.

I have got my tyre changed but they say they cannot rethread the hub as it to far gone.

Does anyone know anywhere in the UK I can get a cheap replacement? Its for an Audi A6 2.0 TDI 2008 plate.

Also is it safe to drive on with only 4 out of the 5 bolts in?

Thanxs

Huggy

you should be OK with 4/5 bolts, better if it is on one of the rears. realize it is not an ideal situation, don't push it.

not sure what your options are for a replacement in the UK. I assume you have salvage yards? that would be your best bet for a cheap replacement.

good luck

having 4 of 5 bolts wont make any difference. the only way anything could happen is if a car hit that wheel at the right angle. at like 20+mph it would snap bolts, but then your car will be much more damaged. I saw the hub for our cars for $40 somewhere, maybe fcpeuro...
