The studs may be removed with a small pipe wrench, however sometimes the studs in the exhaust manifold will shear off. The pipe wrench will destroy the threads.
I have made stainless steel exhaust manifold studs from 5/16"-18 bolts by cutting the heads off and cutting 8mm x 1.25 threads and 5/16"-18 threads as required at the opposite ends.
I never had a stud get stuck in the cylinder head, however the nuts sometimes were stuck on the studs, so that the stud came loose.
Be sure to use anti-seize compound on the exhaust manifold studs.

That's a great idea, though I was able to remove all of the studs.

Yeah, some of the studs came out on their own (I mean, easier) because of the seized nut.

Anyway, I coated pretty good all the new ones with anti-seize paste.

Well, ECS set me back with their turtle way of doing business - I'm not bitching, I guess that's just the way it is.
I woke up a little earlier today and ....the heads are in.
Let me tell you that is a pain in the butt for a right-handed guy to torque properly the driver side bank's head bolts. I had to somehow get in the engine bay (don't ask how) and do for the last step 2 x 1/4 turns instead of just one "healthy" 1/2 turn. Even that way still I stumbled on some of them, having to change grip half way... I hope the heads don't blow up on me further down the road.
I took a break since I need to go to the bank before they close, but I'll continue reinstalling stuff this afternoon, and hopefully tomorrow I'm ready to get the TB in. Hopefully...

After sitting so much time, some of the crud on the pistons just "flaked" on its own - probably from the moisture generated by all the recent rain.

Ya.. Autohauz was the same way.. 'shipped the same day' my ***... took 3 business days plus a weekend to get them shipped, then 5 days to get here. Next time I'm gonna spend the extra $10-15 and get them from Advanced.

Problem... I have to wait probably 10-12 days until everything comes out as a whole.
While trying to figure out the last vacuum line left from yesterday (light green - runs under the manifold to the front vacuum reservoir), I realized that the reservoir (also called "damper" - don't know why) is freaking defective. The "nipple" connection inside of it is broken, so I have to buy a new one. There's no way around it.
Too bad AZone doesn't carry a simple thing like that. Moreover, it has been "superseeded" by a "newer" version. You gotta love these "ships in 1-3 days" items that turn into a couple of weeks... Luck'o'da'Irish...

You can see it better than me. But from here it looks like you should be able to pick up a fitting at home depot and tap that hole out and teflon the fitting in or maybe just epoxy it in the neck. **** the whole system is rigged together with rubber tubes what's one more rig-up.

Check out these links I found.

Yep... tap that sucka and tread a nipple in it. Hell, for that matter, Make Your Own

Or, by one from the local auto store, or someplace with REAL shipping like Summit Racing

ECS calls it a 'dapmer'

Looks like the new part just has the aluminum foil...

I saw what you need today at Home depot it's in the plumbing isle those white pvc or poly nipples but it think you should try to find the best fitting and epoxy or glue it in because that resevoir is probably dryer than hell and you don't want to crack the neck tapping it.
