I put on brand new tie rod ends - still shakes. Had tire dealer replace tires three times (Michelin, then Goodyears), still shakes. Had rims inspected - all round - still shakes. Replaced control arms - still shakes. Had tires balanced by another shop - still shakes but much less. Barkes are fairly new but off brand parts. I'm going to try this and the strut hats as soon as it gets warm enough to work on a car.

Nice ride when it doesn't shake, lousy POS when it does.

FWIW I had a car with a similar problem years ago. Replaced everything (so I thought) got the wheels balanced maybe 5 times. Still shook the steering wheel side to side at certain speeds. I just dealt with it forever, then realized I hadn't replace the INNER tie rod ends. Did that, fixed it (since everything else was already new).

You can inspect your cheapo tires fairly easily. Put the car up on four jack stands, start the car and set the cruise at whatever speed gives you the worst shake on the road. Get out and look at the tires. Any up and down or side to side movement will be obvious. There will be some but it should be fairly minor. If it looks like a lot, it is a lot and you need to get the cheapos off before it starts taking out everything else.

Incorrect alignment can cause the shakes also... Though the bet is on the tires/wheels. Get them high speed balanced at a good shop.

I'm trying a set of wheel manufacturer made hub centric rings and if that doesn't work I need to find a shop with one of those special wheel balancers. A locol shop and les schwab balanced them but I'm unsure which machines they used.

I rotated the wheels and they still shook. My indy shop said tires then tie rod ends because the boots were torn. Well I looked at the tie rod ends and so did les schwab, no tears.

So next set is special balancer, new front tires (ouch they're 18s).

FWIW, I had my wheels balanced 3 times at Town Fair Tire with no relief. I then took it to another highly recommended shop. He told me they actually shave down the individual weights to little pieces until the balance is as close to perfect as possible. i also have 3 bent wheels which he discovered, but without straightening them, his balancing job was the best alternative. let me tell you, it was COMPLETE night and day! I fell in love with my car all over again!
I've since asked many shops that are closer and more convenient to my house if they'll shave weights to get a better balance, and no one else I've found will do it...

Hub centric rings from the wheel manufacturer were the solution! Helped the shake 60-75%, however its still shakes slightly in the steering and seat.
