2002 A8 aftermarket radio
Regular Double DIN is not a direct fit for the D2, as far as I understand. A lot of owners have gone to the RNSE units like in this guy's sig pic:

They're available on Ebay from time to time...other sources? ..not sure.
Don't know about install, but a forum search of this and other forums should have info.
If you have nav, it works through your Bose Symphony radio...Even a Symphony 2 radio is not compatible it and you'll lose nav with it, but it'll fit the hole.

I have an OEM radio "cage" from a facelift car for sale. This would allow you to do the cutting work on the bench your car stays intact.
