My 2001 A8 CD Changer won't respond to the head unit. It doesn't show any errors, it just says "NO CD". I'm frustrated because the CD changer will eject the cartridge, which means it gets power. Does it have it's own power supply line, or does it get it's power from the head unit? It doesn't even check the CD's anymore when I insert the cartridge, nor does it read any of the CD's. I've got the standard system, not the BOSE. Thanks guys.

 

The CD changer has its own power source, the head unit just tells it what to do. You most likely need a new CD changer. Should run you about $300.
