I got to change my tire a block away from yankee stadium today.

Going to pick up my girlfriend, hit a pothole hard, and the tire is toast.

No rim damage, but it blew out the tire, and when I tried filling it with air I saw a nice gash in it from the rim/road combo platter.

New tire hunting tomorrow...

I've got about 5k miles on these tires.
They still all look like new.
Think my quattro will complain about the one new tire?

 

with only 5k on the tires now... not at all... unless you drove the sh*t p*ss out of them drifting over hot pavement

 

You can try, but 2 would be safer than just one. The difference in thread can lead to excessive wear and bad handling and noise.
