I lost my acceleration...
Slipping clutch = Less stress on the trans than normal...
Unless you let it get to the point where it won't engage right.
Then forcing it in and out of gear can be a problem.

tom1222 interpreted my comment correctly..all based on driving habits..wind 'er up, and dump the clutch too often and you can chew through them. Also based on quality of components. If you are completely through the plates, chances are your flywheel is scorched as well.

I know the dealership will rip you off every chance they get, but $2500 for a clutch?
I would shoot whoever quoted you that price in the face.

A new clutch will run you about $2500.00 installed by the dealership perhaps a bit more if the flywheel needs to be replaced.

car and trailered it back to their garage where they had their mechanic put it in. The didn't replace the flywheel either. I hope that isn't going to bite me in the butt. The clutch they put in was only about 500-600 bucks and they didn't charge me anything since I just bought the car.
Along with a 48 month extended warranty. However, clutches aren't covered and are considered wear items.

they had the flywheel inspected and that it didn't need to be replaced. I think they were just too
damn cheap to replace it since the dual mass flywheel is more expensive than the clutch itself.
So far so good. I had the car now for 3 months and it runs like a champ. The only two things
that don't seem to work are the aliens(headlight squirters) and the homelink garage door opener.
I really don't care about those funky headlight squirters but I would like to get the homelink to work. I guess I can take it to the same dealer that quotted me 2500 bucks for the clutch and
get raped there or just keep on using my regular garage door opener

I got my Stage 1 clutch from ECS tuning for $360 shipped. - Had it installed for $300.
Its not an expensive job if you find a respectable shop to do it. - Do take note though, AUDI DEALERS WILL RAPE YOU. **Only go to them when you HAVE to**

because of a Boost issue. They charged me over 650 bucks to replace the less than a foot long hose from the Turbo to the Intercooler piping. I could have bought it at ECS Tuning for 71 bucks
and put it on myself.
I had to take it back there several times and they still didn't fix the issue. Marty put it on a Vag Com and found the problem right away and cleared the codes(I was in limp mode) and the car ran great afterwards. Marty did in 15 minutes what Tom Wood couldn't fix in over 2weeks that they had the car. It's amazing that they are still in business. The problem is that there really isn't another Audi dealer around this area so people don't have much of a choice.
