Default Oil leak--repair advice

I had my mechanic look over my car for preseason bolt-down & inspection. He found the source of 3 leaks. First one was one I have known for a while--power steering fluid. He suspects it is the high pressure hose but says it could also be the rack.

The other 2 are oil--valve cover and crank case vent pipes. My questions are:

1. Since they aren't leaking profusely, is there any risk in not fixing immediately.
2. Is there any upgrade I should consider when I do get these items fixed, or just use oem parts.
3. Any general watchouts?
4. He quoted $1000 to do all. Sound right (for both parts & labor)?
5. I found the valve cover gasket online, but not the crank case vent pipes. Is there some other name for these parts?

Thanks for any advice!

valve cover gasket is like $45 shipped with the tensioner gasket and anyone can do it. The other leak you should add in a catch can and remove everything else from the pcv system. Here is l88m22vette's write up http://www.audifreaks.com/showthread.php?t=753

The sooner you fix it the better. It can and will effect performance and making a oily mess over everything. Also its under $150 in parts and can be done in a better part of a day for a first timer with no special tools

$1000 is a lot for something most people can do them self.

That's usually the way I think too. Especially since I have a 3 month old and time is difficult to come by.

But if Cincy is confident that a layman can do it, then I think I'll try it. I looked at the DIY, but I didn't see a detailed parts list. I'll do some searching. Thanks guys.

All you basically do is remove the coilpacks and then the valve cover. Its a little more involved on the 225 since they put all the **** on top of the valve cover thats under the intake manifold for other 1.8t's, but its nothing a good set of hand tools cant accomplish
