My 2000 180 didn't have any option for ESP/ASR, neither does my 01 225. I don't quite see how thats gonna make a difference in 1-2 shifting anyway, unless youre spinning your tires off the line at every start.

Ray/wintermute have good advice, you might see an improvement with a gear oil change. Make sure it's a GL5 rated oil, the Red Line MT90 is proven to work well. Otherwise, as joking as my original post may have been, it may just have a lot to do with your personal driving style. I could probably shift my TT in my sleep (not that I want to go there (again)), but I drove my uncles Honda once, and I was almost stalling it at every light. Every car drives different.
