Default Airbag control unit replacement

Hi Guys!

My airbag control unit is fryed, but i have a similar car in back hand. Its a year older (1997) model of my A4. This car is a sedan, while mine's an avant. So:

I removed the airbag control unit from the spare parts car, but it's a slightly different number on the unit i picked up. Here's two pictures:

the old in my car:

and the "new" one:

Do you have any idea if the "new" one will work? will I need to use OBD for anything afterwards?

If the part numbers are different, the unit is different.

The part numbers have to match EXACTLY or it won't work.

Those two part numbers do not cross over to interchange into each other.
