central locking

I'm pretty sure after a day of two of manually locking and unlocking as needed, it will re-sync on it's own. I'm pretty sure that's how mine worked whenever I would have to disconnect the battery (or when I fixed my locking pump). Again, the transponder thing in the trunk remained the same, I just fixed the pump itself.

At least I think that's it. Try locking and unlocking it a few times manually. Then the FOB should work.

I should clarify: The key you need to re-sync is the one doing the manual locking. Either a working fob or a valet key is the one left in the ignition.
I believe the instructions are in one of the links I posted, but the good key/FOB goes in the ignition. Turn car to "on" position. Check VCDS for the existing key number/position. Manually lock the door with the bad FOB, them - within 5 seconds, press the unlock button on the new/bad FOB enough times to put you one number past the VCDS number, then wait 5 seconds and hit the unlock button again. It should then work.
