Default complete engine loss!

as i picked up my a4 from the shop it completely died on me, i wasnt even 1/2 mile away from the shop. while at the shop the mechanic found a bunch of the vaccum lines damaged or not even hooked up. he also shut off my airbag light, he even drove it around to make sure its ok and it was fine. now before it died on me it made a wurring sound and lost all power. the engine turns over but does not fire, all belts are ok even the timing belt. it didnt want to mess with it to much for fear of causing more issues. if anybody could give me some ideas where to start looking would be great, all of you guys have been good to me when i needed help so thanks much.

sounds like maybe the charge piping blew off... check all hose clamps between the compressor side of the turbo and the throttle body...

if it was any intake pipe it would start, but it would just run like crap. start by making the shop fix it or pay to have it fixed elsewhere. scan for codes would be the first thing to do.

well as soon as warms up a bit outside ill get it back over to the shop and go from there. i guess i should invest in VAG-COM so i can pretty much eliminate going to the shop. i also forgot to mention that what little i tried to start it (fear of something internal broken) it acted as though it had no compression. ill let you guys know more come monday night, thanks

Get a compression tester... That will tell you for sure.
