EPC light and loss of power

I have a 2000 A4 fwd. The EPC light came on yesterday and I lost a-lot of power. The car idles rough, but doesn't do it every start.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

yeah it was the engine speed sensor i believe. happened several months ago to my b6.

You need to check and see what codes are being throw.
