Talking to several Mechanics about oil consumption(lucky me my neighbor has a lift)thay all stear towards how much smoke is comming out. If its very little mor than likely the valve seals need to be replaced. If it leave a smoke screen than the rings are shot. If the A4 makes it through this winter then I will plan on removeing the head and starting there.
