Default So are Cold Air Intakes worth it or no?

I can get a K&N Cold air intake for my 97 Quattro for about $80.. Doesnt sound to bad, and all im looking for is to better hear the turbo and get a little better MPG.

the only gain in buying a cold air intake would be the sound, and the fact that you wont have to buy new air filters but the stock air intake is more than our cars need

^^^truth. Get it anyway - the sound is pretty nice, and no more buying filters.

You can throw a K&N filter in and do the airbox mod in the DIY forum.

you don't even need the airbox, get rid of the whole thing, more flow = more horsepower. then get a wing.

What decals would add the most hp? and are blue neons legal? I did read that Devil I was just w. if anyone had pics. That one didn't and was vague about where to cut! I already have a K&N flat filter (the one that matches oem) Again thanks for the help!

yea to the OP i have the same intake i believe youre talking about.. its like K&N 57i or something? i dunno came with all mounting hardware.. a new bracket to hold everything in place and directions.. works real well and it def adds a nice sound especially with a tune.. even without it though when all i had done was the intake and DV you could hear it sucking in the air.. work yourself up a nice heatshield or get a blinktek one and youre good to go.. no reason not to get the intake if you ask me.. even though the stock airbox is just as if not more efficient.. doo itt
